Time: 4 PM to 6 PM

Venue: Chianti, Indiranagar

On January 25th, Chianti transformed into something more than a restaurant. It became a kitchen shared by strangers who left feeling like friends.

In collaboration with The Gather, we hosted the second event of our Pasta Club, a two-hour, hands-on tortellini workshop at our Indiranagar restaurant. Ten guests, and a room full of flour-dusted hands came together for an afternoon rooted in Italian tradition and community.

Why We Started Pasta Club

Chianti’s Italian food has always been about simplicity and connection. Recipes are passed down, techniques are respected, and meals are meant to be shared.

Pasta Club was our way of opening that kitchen up and celebrating our love for Italian food.

Instead of just serving pasta, we wanted people to understand it. Touch it. Shape it. Cook it. Eat it together.

How the Afternoon Unfolded

Guests arrived, found their places, and quickly settled into conversation. The room felt relaxed from the start, easy and unhurried.

We opened with a simple icebreaker: one minute to list as many pasta names as possible. There was laughter, debate, and a bold attempt at spelling tagliatelle. A small set of pasta-themed stickers went to the winner, setting the tone for what followed.

Then the hands-on work began.

With flour, eggs, and patience, guests learned how dough should feel, not just how it should look. Chef Mani moved between tables, offering small adjustments and answering questions, keeping the session personal and approachable.

Once rested, the dough was rolled and shaped into tortellini. Some were neat, others proudly imperfect. Comparing results became part of the fun. Each batch was cooked fresh and finished with sauce as guests gathered around to watch.

By the time everyone sat down together, the space felt less like a class and more like a shared kitchen.

Plates arrived hot, conversations flowed, and no one seemed in a rush to leave. Pasta Club became what we hoped it would be, a simple, hands-on experience that brought people together over food.

More Than a Workshop

Our Tortelloni workshop was not designed as a one-off event.

Two women in aprons making pasta indoors, one holding fresh noodles, smiling. Lush plants and arched windows in the background.

It is part of a larger idea at Chianti. Italian food is meant to be experienced slowly and collectively. Workshops like these allow us to share the craft behind the cuisine, while creating space for connection.

From tortellini to ravioli, from sauce-making sessions to wine pairings, as part of our pasta club we are building a calendar of intimate, hands-on experiences that bring people closer to Italian cooking.

Through Pasta Club and future experiences, Chianti aims to create more spaces where people can:

  • Learn traditional Italian techniques

  • Explore regional dishes

  • Connect over shared tables

  • Experience the craft behind the cuisine

These workshops are intentionally small. The goal is not scale. It is intimacy, authenticity, and meaningful interaction.

What’s Next

This workshop was only the beginning.

In the coming months, our pasta club will continue to host curated Italian experiences, from pasta-making sessions to chef-led demonstrations and themed culinary evenings.

If you would like to be among the first to know about upcoming events  at Chianti, keep an eye on this page and Instagram, or join our mailing list.

We look forward to welcoming you into our kitchen.
