If you walked into Chianti’s Forum South Bengaluru outlet last Wednesday, you’d have heard the happy chaos of people kneading, laughing, and stretching dough that just refused to be round. And we loved every second of it.

We call it Pizza Lab, our very first hands-on pizza workshop, where guests dusted their hands with flour and came together to play with food and learn the Chianti way.

Pizza topped with cheese and greens on a wooden board. Text reads: Chianti's Pizza Lab, Neapolitan Pizza Workshop, Bengaluru.
Neapolitan Pizza Workshop at Chianti’s Pizza Lab: An event held on Wednesday, 9th July at Forum South Mall, where we delved into the art of making authentic Neapolitan pizza.

What Happened at Pizza Lab?

It was a workshop, yes. But more than that, it was a moment.

A moment where strangers leaned in together over a floured counter. Sleeves were rolled up, questions spilled out, and everyone was too busy trying to stretch their dough into a perfect circle. It rarely stays that way, and that’s part of the joy.

Led by our Head Chef, Manivel Ramaswamy, Pizza Lab was a quiet peek behind the scenes — an invitation into the heart of our kitchen. Guests learned about our ingredients, our techniques, and the little secrets that make our pizzas what they are.

People stand around Chianti's head chef making pizza in a cozy restaurant with brick walls. Plates of food and fresh produce are on the table.
Head Chef Manivel chats with the group, sharing cooking tips as everyone gathers around the prep table.

There was a chef-led demo on the how-tos of working with fresh dough, tossing flour, and playing with toppings. Guests took turns, helped one another, and passed ingredients around like old friends.

We kept it small — just 15 women making their Wednesday special. Because that’s how you make it personal. Intimate. No stage. No microphones. Just a cozy circle around the oven, where learning felt more like an experience than a class.

And of course, it wouldn’t be Chianti without something delicious to share.

We served warm bruschetta to start, followed by crostini pesto pollo, our classic margherita, and the Pizza Del Chianti fresh from the oven and full of heart. All of it paired beautifully with a chilled orange basil mocktail that kept spirits high and hands busy.

It was an evening of flour, food, and a kind of joy you don’t always find on the menu.

Why We Did The Pizza Workshop

Chianti has always been about more than food. We believe meals are just a way to bring people closer to themselves, to each other, and to the moment they’re in.

Pizza Lab was our way of saying, “Come into our kitchen. Let’s make something together.”

And you know what? We're just getting started.

The Joy of Cooking Together

Cooking is not just about the food. It's about the connections we forge. When we gather in the kitchen, we share stories, laughter, and experiences. Each ingredient tells a tale, and every dish is a memory waiting to be made.

In our Pizza Lab, participants didn’t just learn how to make pizza. They created bonds. They discovered the joy of collaboration. The kitchen became a space of creativity and camaraderie.

The Heart of Chianti

At Chianti, we pride ourselves on our authentic approach to Italian cuisine. Our ingredients are sourced with care. Each dish is crafted to reflect our passion for food.

The Pizza Lab is a testament to this philosophy. It’s not just about making pizza; it’s about understanding the essence of Italian cooking. It’s about celebrating the flavors that bring us together.

What’s Next for Chianti?

We’re excited about the future. Our workshops will continue to evolve. Expect more hands-on experiences, from pasta-making classes to dessert workshops. We want to create a space where everyone can explore their culinary passions.

To know about our next event, follow us on Instagram or sign up for our newsletter. We only send announcement emails, so you’ll hear from us only when there’s something worth sharing.
